I finally made myself a human ugly Christmas sweater to match my lobster designs!
I used Courtney Flynn's New Horizons pattern as the base – which is a lovely worsted weight pattern that is knit in the round from the top down.
NOTE: To use this or another similar sweater pattern to incorporate my grids you will need to be comfortable enough with knitting to make your own adjustments to the stitch count to get the patterns to line up :)
With Courtney's pattern, I made the size 2 (small), but had to extend the size of the yoke to fit the colour work and I adjusted the stitch count as I went to accommodate my design.

Collar: I started this 4 rows after I finished the ribbing, working increases before or in the middle of the two rows. This will align perfectly at the back if your stitch count is a multiple of 6.
Snowmen: I started this 4 rows after the zig zag. If you are doing a larger size you may want to leave a few more rows to accommodate any increases. These will align perfectly at the back if your stitch count is a multiple of 12.
For the nose I hand-stitched this on afterwards making a "v" shape to better ressemble the carrot nose (knitting in would make it a ^ instead of a V!)
Lobster and heart zig zag feature: I started this 4 rows after the snowmen. Once you complete this you can finish the yoke, unless you are doing a larger size and it requires more length and increases. You need a multiple of 26 to make the lobsters and hearts line up perfectly if you have 3 stitches in between each and ensure you don't have lobster and heart next to each other. You can play with the amount of stitches in between them (eg add more - go up to 4, 5 or 6) to adjust to make work better with your size and stitch count.
Top zig zags: I placed these one row after I separated off the body and arms on all three parts. This will align perfectly at the back if your stitch count is a multiple of 6.
Bottom zig zags: I placed these 16 rows before I would start my ribbing to finish the body and sleeves. This will align perfectly at the back if your stitch count is a multiple of 6.
