Warming Worthing

Fuel poverty is a significant problem in the UK. I live in Sussex and have been chatting with Worthing Homes, whose vision is to help create sustainable futures and they offer their residents energy saving advice through their Relish project.

One small way to help address the issue is to have draught excluders to put at the base of doors to keep warmth in your rooms – draught excluders are very easy to make on your own with knitting!

The Warming Worthing knitting club

I am running a free weekly club at Worthing Homes’ new venue, the Love-it-hub, Maybridge Square in Worthing.

Sessions take place every Tuesday from 12:30pm-2pm. Check this page before you come to see if there are any cancellations or changes of time or venue.

During the sessions I provide materials and tips for all knitting skills and we will make as many of these draft excluders as possible, with a goal of putting them all together along the Worthing Waterfront to make the longest draft excluder ever! Special thanks to Barbara, Ginny and Dorothy who have joined me for the first few sessions – they’ve all come up with brilliant ideas to make creative draught excluders and have both completed one already!
