This is a video series designed to help children learn how to knit! People often think knitting is hard – but it really is not. Once you get the hang of it, it is a simple and wonderful skill that allows you to create almost anything you can imagine with a simple piece of string!
This video is best suited to children 3-6 years old.
In this video, Marshall, 4, helps explain what wool is, what wool feels and looks like and some fun things we can do with wool.
Understanding what wool is and the basic way to handle wool – such as identifying things around the house that are knit from wool, making loops with wool, or weaving wool through holes – is a very important step to understanding knitting, especially for little ones.
This video suggests some simple activities – to do these you will need any kind of string, cardboard, and something you can poke holes the size of your pinky finger with.
